Disney Pixar’s Luca Review: A Heartwarming Movie About Friendship

As a fan of Disney and Pixar, I have to say that whenever they make animated movies, I watch them. Because they bring not only the audio-visual effects of the film and the charm of the story, but more importantly, they really put a lot of effort into the animation, which has two meanings. One is the high level of technology, the second is the level of creativity. Luca stays true to the Pixar standard: great graphics, a twisty story, a beautiful movie, and a lot of fun. The fun is different from adventure animation like Ice Age or How to Train Your Dragon, and it’s more emotionally focused.

“Luca” review

The story of the film Luca is simple, it pursues common themes of self and friendship with friends, and incorporates family elements. The film tells the story of an ordinary adventure, the search for friendship.

The emotional lines of the film are well-established. Friends, friendships, and family are common emotional lines. As a result, the film generates no new ideas on an emotional line, nor does it impress me much. The film takes the Italian seaside town as the background, the Italian style panoramic view.

The CG animations of Pixar are very detailed, with perfect lighting, hair, texture, expression and other aspects. However, the CG technical level of this film is obviously weaker than that of other Pixar works. The characters are familiar but not fresh, and the modeling of characters is not delicate enough.

Some people think that the film is LGBT and that it implies that the two men are gay, which I think is an overinterpretation of the friendship between the two men.

The editing of the film Luca was not ideal. Some of the sections are a little stiff and the transitions are not natural enough. The movie was a standard hour and a half, and the first hour was rather dull. The last half hour was the most wonderful. I guessed at the beginning that Luca would definitely integrate into the human society.

About Luca

Pixar movies can always warm the heart, and Luca’s summer is no exception. The film is a story about friendship, crushing prejudice and overcoming fear. Disney and Pixar’s Luca is a love letter to the Italian Riviera, perfectly blended with food, music and a small-town Italian feel. Most of all, it’s a pleasure to watch because the visuals are amazing.

A coming-of-age story about a young boy who experiences an unforgettable summer, the main character is Luca, a sea monster who never thought of going to land until he meets his outgoing friend Alberto. Set in a beautiful seaside town in Riviera, Italy, the summer is filled with gelato, pasta and endless motorbike rides. Luca shares these adventures with his new best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deep secret: He’s a sea monster from another world just below the surface of the water.

“Luca” Cast

One of the highlights of Luca is his excellent voice cast. Lucca is voiced by Jacob Tremblay and Alberto is voiced by Jack Dylan Glazer. The chemistry between the two of them is amazing, and it’s clear that these two characters are great friends.

Emma Berman is a breath of fresh air as Julia. She brings quirkiness to her characters while also representing a lot of comedy.

Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan, who voice Luca’s parents, also provide material for the comedy, which is to be expected. They are funny in real life and bring that humor to their characters with ease. Many moments of loud laughter are about them.

Each actor brings something to the table that makes their characters not only believable, but also fun to look at. It’s easy to get lost in the stories because they are so amazing.

Luca Important Messages

While Disney and Pixar’s Luca is fun for the whole family, the movie has some very important messages for the kids. Luca will teach them to be confident and go out of their comfort zone without fear, while Alberto will show them that it’s OK to open up. Julia is very strong-willed, and in a good way, and she never gives up on anything or anyone, no matter what the circumstances. When she is determined to do something, she will try again and again — not afraid of failure.

There are lessons for adults, too — like learning to accept others for who they are. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Just because something looks terrible doesn’t mean it is. It’s also a good inspiration for kids. While many children are naturally accepting of others, unfortunately, they learn a lot about prejudice from the people raising them and the world around them.

Conclusion

Disney/Pixar’s Luca is a heartwarming film about friendship, finding yourself and acceptance. Viewers are bound to think of their best friends while watching TV, and may even call their parents or friends afterwards.

There’s a lot of love for Luca from the comedy, the visual effects, and of course from the heart. In true Pixar style, you might end up in tears. If you didn’t yearn for a trip to Italy after seeing Luca, you certainly didn’t like the animated film. This movie should be enjoyed with gelato and pasta, not popcorn and candy.
