Ingredients
  

  • 750 g beef
  • 1 white radish
  • moderate oil and salt
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 bay leafs
  • 1 tbsp cooking wine
  • tomato sauce

Instructions
 

  • 1. Cut beef into pieces and soak in water for 10 minutes.
  • 2. Put the beef pieces in the pot and boil for 4-5 minutes. Skim off the foam and remove the beef to rinse.
  • 3. Add oil to the pot and heat, add ginger slices, star anise, bay leaves, tomato sauce, stir-fry evenly.
  • 4. Pour in the beef and stir-fry evenly, the beef is slightly fried, not too long.
  • 5. Put the fried beef in an electric pressure cooker, add appropriate amount of hot water (note that the beef is not submerged), and pour the cooking wine. Stew for half an hour. If there is no electric pressure cooker, it can be stewed in a common pot. It takes about 1.5-2 hours to stew the beef until soft.
  • 6. When stewing beef, peel and wash the white radishes and cut them into pieces. Add water to the pot and boil the radish for a few minutes. Do not cover the pot. In this way can remove the bad smell of radish.
  • 7. When the time is up, release the air pressure in the pressure cooker. Open the lid, the beef is soft and rotten. Then pour the radish pieces, add salt, cover the pot and continue to simmer for 5-6 minutes.

Notes

The beef is soaked in clean water for 10 minutes and boiled in cold water to remove the blood from the beef. Pour the beef stew in hot water so that the soup will be fresher.
